CITY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The City Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and inspection of the City’s public infrastructure improvements. The City Engineer also ensures that work completed by private developers and private utility companies within the public right-of-way meets the City’s specifications.
The Engineer manages much of the City’s Capital Improvement Program, including transportation, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution projects. The Engineer also provides technical support to other departments, developers, and citizens with respect to utility locations, stormwater management, water distribution, transportation planning, traffic, neighborhood traffic issues, and other engineering-related items.
